Knott's Berry Farm Line-Waiting Guide

Buena Park, California

Knott's Berry Farm grew out of an actual working berry farm and roadside stand, and it's often credited as the first modern theme park — its Ghost Town section still gives it a different pace than the more polished parks nearby.

Rides Worth a Blackout Card

Lines at these attractions regularly run long enough to fill an entire Blackout card while you wait.

  • HangTime — a dive coaster with a signature vertical drop and one of the longest lines in the park.
  • Xcelerator — a hydraulic-launch coaster that goes 0-to-82 mph in about two seconds, drawing steady crowds.
  • GhostRider — a classic wooden coaster that remains a fan favorite decades after opening.

Quick Bingo Rounds

These attractions tend to move fast — good picks if you're chasing a fast row, column, or diagonal instead.

  • Calico Mine Ride — a slow-moving dark ride through a recreated mine with steady, moderate lines.
  • Timber Mountain Log Ride — a log flume with high capacity that rarely backs up for long.
  • Calico Railroad — a scenic train ride that loads continuously.

Line-Waiting Tip

Ride Xcelerator and HangTime early — both have relatively low hourly capacity for their popularity, so their lines build faster than their ride times would suggest.

Fun Fact

Knott's Berry Farm's roots trace to Mrs. Knott's fried chicken dinners, first served in the 1930s to help support the family farm during the Depression — the restaurant next door still serves the same recipe today.
