Disneyland is the original — the park Walt Disney himself built and walked — and its narrower, older walkways mean queues for headliners can spill further into the surrounding land than at its newer sister parks.

Rides Worth a Blackout Card

Lines at these attractions regularly run long enough to fill an entire Blackout card while you wait.

• Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — Disneyland's version of the multi-stage Galaxy's Edge epic, with waits that regularly top an hour.
• Radiator Springs Racers — the centerpiece of Cars Land, whose line builds fast and stays long most of the day.
• Matterhorn Bobsleds — a classic bobsled coaster that still draws surprisingly long lines on busy days.

Quick Bingo Rounds

These attractions tend to move fast — good picks if you're chasing a fast row, column, or diagonal instead.

• Jungle Cruise — a high-capacity boat ride that moves steadily even with a long-looking line.
• Mark Twain Riverboat — a slow loop around Tom Sawyer Island with plenty of room aboard.
• Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln — a short theater show that rarely has a wait at all.

Line-Waiting Tip

Ride Radiator Springs Racers or Rise of the Resistance in the first 30 minutes the park is open — both lines are dramatically shorter before 10am than at any other point in the day.

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, and is the only Disney theme park Walt Disney personally oversaw from groundbreaking to opening day.
