Disney's Animal Kingdom Line-Waiting Guide
Bay Lake, Florida
Animal Kingdom is the largest Disney park by acreage, and its lines tend to peak early — most guests arrive at rope drop specifically to beat the crowds to Pandora before the Florida heat sets in.
Rides Worth a Blackout Card
Lines at these attractions regularly run long enough to fill an entire Blackout card while you wait.
- Avatar Flight of Passage — a flying simulator that is routinely the single longest line at any Disney World park.
- Na'vi River Journey — a slow boat ride through a bioluminescent forest that draws steady, long lines all day.
- Kilimanjaro Safaris — a high-capacity safari truck ride that can still back up during the mid-morning rush.
Quick Bingo Rounds
These attractions tend to move fast — good picks if you're chasing a fast row, column, or diagonal instead.
- Zootopia: Better Zoogether! — a stage show under the Tree of Life that replaced the park's old 3D bug show, with quick turnover between performances.
- The Boneyard — a walk-through playground with no line at all.
- Wildlife Express Train — a scenic train ride to the park's conservation and animal-care area that loads continuously.
Line-Waiting Tip
Head straight to Pandora at park opening — Flight of Passage's line can hit two hours or more by mid-morning, but it's often a short wait in the first 30 minutes.
Fun Fact
Animal Kingdom opened in 1998 and is home to more than 300 species of animals across its savannas and trails, making it as much a zoological park as a theme park.
